(München, 19.04.2022) Technical know-how and a strong expertise within this area are important key pillars for Schiedel to strengthen its market leadership position.  By officially accrediting its international test laboratory, Schiedel has made another step to keep the path of development and innovation.

This means that Schiedel can now officially test its products in-house at an internationally recognized quality level – this saves time and increases efficiency as important technical skills have been brought in-house. After a large number of external tests and documentation, the Schiedel test laboratory received confirmation from the German accreditation body at the end of last year that it had been successfully accredited according to ISO 17025. The test laboratory now officially meets the general requirements that external test laboratories also have to meet.

We are proud and happy to be the first chimney manufacturer with its own
impartial and accredited laboratory.

With the successful accreditation, the Schiedel test laboratory is now also listed at the DAkkS (German Accreditation Body) and ILAC (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation). That means that the laboratory works on an equal footing with the TÜV and the test results are internationally recognised.

Schiedel’s international testing laboratory now meets the following performance criteria:

  • Guarantee of impartiality and neutrality – requirement that other chimney manufacturers  can have tests carried out in our test laboratory
  • Reliable and plausible test results by working on a internationally recognized level of quality
  • Compliance with high quality standards in the test laboratory
  • Admissions offices accept the test results done by Schiedel on a national level.

On the way to accreditation of the International Schiedel Chimney Testing Laboratory according to ISO 17025, the testing laboratory received confirmation from the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS) in March 2021 that the requirements for the quality management system were met to ensure consistent quality of all tests carried out.

In a second step, the so-called expert assessment was carried out by the DAkkS to ensure the professional and consistent execution of tests before the official accreditation could take place.
